So I FINALLY got around to taking her 5 month old photos. I thought these were just too cute not to share!

Exciting Day!!!

What a wonderful day i've had today!!! First, it's Rosebud's 5mth BD. Happy birthday punkie!!! She has changed soooooooo much since 5 months ago. I saw a 1 month old little boy today & he was still so tiny & grunty & squeaky! I remember when she was like that too..... sigh!

So anyway, second exciting thing....drumroll please........I GOT MY CAST OFF FOR GOOD!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!! Dr J said everything looked & felt great! I still had some soreness & weakness in my wrist, but overall its healing perfectly! Boy am I glad to get that thing off! It was so HORRIBLY smelly & nasty!!! (I did have fun scraping all the dead skin off my hand & wrist though!) He had me fitted with a supportive brace that is removeable and basically said i only need to wear the brace when im messing with Rosebud or busy lifting or gripping small things. I can take it off at night & to wash my hands. I still have to take it easy with that arm for several more weeks just to make sure not to re-injure the Scaphoid bone in the wrist. So no lifting 5- pounds dumbells or feedsacks or haybales for a few more weeks! LOL!!!! ;o) The one down-side to today..... I had to get a cortisone injection in my left (I broke my right one) for the tendonitis that had gotten ALOT worse since being in the cast since i was compensating with that side since my right one was in the cast. So that really hurt, and still does right now & probably will for a few more days the Dr said, but then it should feel alot better.

Third thing exciting: I got to have the pleasure of my mother's company while going to the Dr today. So we went to lunch, Babies R Us, & Ross to do a little shopping after the Dr visit. I didnt fins any treasures at Ross, but i did find some goodies at Babies R Us! Rosebud got a sippee cup, a ladybug hairbrush, red ladybug pajamas with black polkadots & matching bib, & a bath mat that we can lay her on in the big bathtub to keep her head out & her body in the water. She LOVES her baths & we think its time to move her out of the little sink bathtub & into a regular bathtub since we are tired of cleaning up about a gallon of water splashed all over the kitchen counter after her baths each time.

Fourth thing exciting: Blake fixed dinner! It was a YUMMY taco salad!!! That is one thing that he definately can fix perfectly!! Thanks babe...it was delish!!!!!

Lovely!.....Allergies!

Dont you just love allergies??? Rosebud & I have been battling them since last weekend. Runny/drippy noses, tickles in the throat, & stopped up ears. She has been in a pretty good mood through it all though so i cant complain. There was only one night really that she had trouble sleeping since her nose was all plugged up. I am just tired from not sleeping well at night, but Benedryl is helping me with that! But I feel as if we are on our way up the hill of beating the allergies!!! YEA!!!

On the bright side (hopefully for good) i get my cast off on Monday!!! 3 MORE DAYS!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!

Broke my wrist!

Well, July 3rd I was at the barn feeding horses & I got knocked down by Mister & broke my Scaphoid bone in my right wrist. (yes, im right handed!) Blake & my parents came to my rescue & took me to the ER. Three days later I had a huge "Munster" HOT PINK cast put on for 2 weeks. Boy was that thing hot & itchy!!! It came up slightly above my elbow. Holding Rosebud was really difficult with that thing on!!! But i had a lot of help from amazing friends & family!!! Thank you to everyone who was there for me!!! Y'all are such a blessing! Now i have a shorter, below the elbow, sky blue colored cast that i will wear for 5 weeks. When they take that one off I will have more xrays done to see how the bone is healing & depending on those results I may have to get another cast or a splint. Im praying for the splint!!!!

With my right hand out of commission I have learned to be somewhat left handed now. I think ive finally gotten used to doing the most difficult thing a right handed person would have to do left handed!!! (Lets just say it happens in the restroom after nature calls!) It was funny at first how i would be doing something with my left hand & try to be doing it the right handed way. Example: pouring milk out of the carton. I would pick it up with my left hand & start to pour it the same way as i normally did, only to discover that it doesnt work very well & i would have to turn it around. Just one of many examples.

But overall i'm coping just fine! Learning to adapt. Im just hoping & praying that I will recover quickly!!!

Teething!

Rosebud has been so fussy these past few days it has to be her poor teeth moving around down there under her gums! POOR BABY!!!! This all started right at her 4 month BD. Right now numbing gel, frozen/cooled teething rings, & tylenol are mine & her friends! So far she is still sleeping at night just fine, but her naps arent usually very long during the day. Im hoping this goes away shortly & doesnt bother her constantly for the next few weeks until her teeth finally do come through. Her gums dont show any true evidence of a tooth under there pushing its way up, but who knows, one day i may check & there may be a tooth!

Roll Rosebud Roll!!!!

Well...its begun!!! Rosebud rolled over for the 1st time on Saturday June 27th!!! And the most exciting part is I got it on video!!! I couldnt believe it!!!! Once i figure out how to post a video on here, i will get it up! Well, she is fussy right now, but just had to get this up here!!

3 Months old already

So our precious Rosebud is already 3 months old!!! She has grown soooo fast!! Yesterday I held a friends new baby boy that was only 3 days old & i felt like i was holding a china doll! He was so tiny & adorable & cuddly!!! Rosebud is only cuddly when its time to sleep or she is already asleep. She has always been a very stong baby & even held her head up (briefly) on the day she was born! When you hold her she is constantly looking around at things and trying to sit up straight. She got her feet up under her last night during tummy time & lifted her botton up off the floor!!!! I yelled "BABE! She almost crawled!" He came to watch her but she never did it again. I just may start limiting tummy time...im not ready for her to crawl yet!!! J/K!!!

Blogger Babe

Ok... so i broke down & created a blog! I figured it would be a good way to document "Rosebud's" current achievements & social life. LOL!!! (My child does have a pretty active one so far!) I never thought that I would be a "blogger", so just creating one is a big step for me! Hubby still refuses to blog though. Not sure how much I will even use this, but I think it will be fun!
